PAINTSVILLE — Country music will fill the air next weekend, during the Kentucky Apple Festival, when country music star Bucky Covington takes to the stage.
Bucky’s new single, “Drinking Side of Country,” is a duet with Shooter Jennings, and the video features cameos from his celeb friends Kellie Pickler, Mickie James and Cowboy Kenny Bartram.
Covington was a finalist during season 5 of American Idol. His debut album, the eponymous “Bucky Covington,” was released April 17, 2007. The album debuted on the Billboard 200 at number four, and at number one on the Top Country Albums and sold 61,000 copies. The album had the best opening week for a debut album by a male since Billy Ray Cyrus’ 1992 debut.
Bucky’s video for “Drinking Side of Country” reached 1 million views within 24 hours of being posted on YouTube and 2 Million in 72 hours.
Covington will be performing Saturday, Oct. 6, in Paintsville.
