A local transportation agency is seeking letters of support as part of the annual application campaign.
Sandy Valley Transportation Services, Inc. is in the process of preparing Federal Transit Act grant applications for the 2014 fiscal year. The agency is also putting forward a proposal to continue its service as the Region 14 broker of Kentucky’s Human Service Transportation Delivery Program.
Officials say that the funding from these grants is vital for SVTS to continue its work providing transportation services to residents in the Big Sandy counties of Floyd, Johnson, Martin, Magoffin and Pike.
SVTS has served as the area’s transportation broker since 1998.
The agency is asking for area residents to show support for the services provided and for the grant which would help continue to finance those operations, by sending letters of support. The letters are required as part of the agencies application every year.
Those who wish to offer support, can fax letters to (606) 886-1969, (606) 886-1934, (866) 406-7887, or mail it in to Sandy Valley Transportation Services In.c, 81 Resource Court, Prestonsburg, KY 41653.
