Macel Wells Baxter, age 62, of Bypro, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at the McDowell Appalachian Hospital, in McDowell.
She was born Jan. 17, 1950, in Lackey, a daughter of the late Frank N. and Liza Slone Wells. She was a retired beautician.
She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Lynn (Michael Gerald Adney) Baxter, of Bypro; a goddaughter, Christy Mae Crum, of Dwale; five special friends, Doris Bates, Deborah Lindsey, Maggie Johnson, Kitty Ryan and Sharon Harris; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, J.D. Wells, Hershell Wells, James Wells and Hobert Wells; three sisters, Wilda Kohler, Maxine Sisk and Thelma Glee Wells; and one special friend, Scotty Hall.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 23, at the Lower Burton Pentecostal Church, at Bypro, with Louis Sandlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Cemetery, at Golf Hollow, in Wheelwright.
Visitation is after 6 p.m., Friday, at the church.
