STANTON - Junior guard Brett Ruckel scored a game-high 22 points and Lewis County owned a lead at each quarter stop on Saturday en route to a 75-62 victory over the South Floyd Raiders in the final round of the Red River Classic at Powell County.
Jake Parker pushed in 11 points and Isaac Weddington added 10 for the Lions.
Lewis County, a member of the 16th Region, led 37-32 at halftime and opened the second half by outscoring the Raiders 21-15 in the third quarter.
South Floyd dropped back into the loss column just one day after defeating Paris for its first win in the 2012-13 season.
Austin Bailey led South Floyd with 15 points. Michael Martin had 14 points, Austin Salisbury 13 and Tyler Daniels 12 for the Raiders.
Dakota Justice and Hunter Johnson had three points apiece while Jacob Crager chipped in two for South Floyd in the setback.
The Raiders went 1-2 in the Red River Classic. Host Powell County pulled away to beat South Floyd 73-51 in the opening round of the holiday tournament.
