MARTIN - The Piarist Knights snapped a three-game losing streak on Friday night with a convincing win over visiting Rose Hill Christian. Piarist posted its third win in the 2012-13 season, defeating Rose Hill Christian 71-34.
The Royals dropped back into the loss column after defeating Riverside Christian for their first victory in the 2012-13 season in late-December.
Piarist was 25-of-78 from the field. The Knights fared well from 3-point range, connecting on five-of-15 attempts behind the arc.
Piarist also helped its cause at the charity stripe, draining 14 of 24 free throw attempts.
Four Piarist scorers reached double figures. Two Piarist players posted double-doubles as the Knights pulled away to win convincingly.
Michael Williams paced Piarist with a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds.
John Gullett followed, scoring 19 points for the Knights.
Galvin Greene aided the Piarist attack with 13 points and a game-high 18 rebounds.
Joining Williams, Gullett and Greene in double figures, Tyler Stumbo added 11 points for the Knights.
Ben Dennison, Bryce Marshall, James McCarty and Clay Slone rounded out the Piarist scoring with two points each.
With the win, Piarist improved to 3-7. The Knights also own wins over Riverside Christian and Red Bird.
Rose Hill, a former 16th Region powerhouse, slipped to 1-12 after suffering the loss.
