Phillip Dean Spriggs, 71, of Meally, husband of Anna Mae Mollett Spriggs, died March 22, 2013.

Born Jan. 1, 1942, at Boons Camp, to the late Carl and Clara Staniford Spriggs, he was a merchant and a member of Boons Camp Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Oscar Timothy Bowen, of Flat Gap, Earl Gregory Bowen, of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Gary Lee Bowen, of Nicholasville; a daughter, Helen Renea Bentley, of West Van Lear; a sister, Virginia Kozee; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Phillip Dean Spriggs were held Monday, March 25, at Boons Camp Freewill Baptist Church, with Edmond Hickman and Ronnie Spriggs officiating. Burial followed in the Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, at Staffordsville, under the direction of Preston Funeral Home, of Paintsville.
