PIPPA PASSES - Junior pitcher Neil Dillon has been named this week’s Alice Lloyd College Male Athlete of the Week for his recent, excellent play on the mound in conference action.
In defeating opponent Point Park University 4-0, Dillon held the Pioneers to six scoreless innings. He only allowed five hits and walked one batter. The junior pitcher also had seven strikeouts as part of a dominant performance.
Dillon (6-1) hails from Wayne, W.Va.
McLean named KIAC Pitcher of the Week: Brescia University senior Zach McLean was named the KIAC baseball pitcher of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, March 25. This is his second pitcher of the week award of the season.
McLean finished the week with 11.2 innings pitched over five games as the Bearcats ended the week with a 4-2 record. McLean pitched a three-hit shutout as Brescia defeated No. 12 Lindsey Wilson 2-0. The senior pitcher also picked up a pair of saves in two conference games against Berea. He is now 3-1 on the season with six saves and a 4.05 earned run average.
