ASHLAND — A regional event is being planned as part of an effort to give back to those who have given for their country.
Morehead State University will be joined by a host of other organizations to stage the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Expo. The event will take place June 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Boyd County Middle School.
According to a flyer describing the event, the expo will “honor, assist and publicly recognize the men and women who have honorably served and are currently serving our nation.”
Among services available during the event will be:
• Information about veteran and community resources
• Educational and training information
• Employment opportunities
• A career fair
• Resume development
• Medical screening
• Veterans benefits
In addition, lunch will be served and prizes will be awarded.
MSU is being by the Kentucky Veterans Program Trust Fund, Kentucky Workforce Development Office of Employment and Training, Corporation for National and Community Service, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Boyd County Schools, Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, Kentucky National Guard, FIVCO Area Development District, Department of Veterans Affairs Huntington VA Medical Center, Volunteers of America, Shelter of Hope, and Ashland Community and Technical College in sponsoring the event.
