Paul Brooks Wells, 77 years of age, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, in Huntington, W.Va.
Born Sept. 5, 1935, at Auxier, he was the son of the late William Lee Wells and Mable Irene Hubbard Wells.
Paul was retired as an occupational teacher with the Carl Perkins Rehabilitation Center, at Thelma, and was a member of the Prestonsburg Church of Christ. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a lifetime member of the Big Sandy Champter No. 18 D.A.V., of Auxier.
Paul is survived by his wife, Sue Salyers Wells, of Prestonsburg; a son, Mark Wells, of Prestonsburg; two brothers, Charles Robert Wells, of Louisville, and Michael Wells, of Mt. Orab, Ohio; and two sisters, Nancy Goble, of Auxier, and Peggy Wells, of Prestonsburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, with Vernon Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Bob Prater Cemetery, in Prestonsburg.
Serving the family as pallbearers are Marshall Fugate, Charles Robert Wells, Michael Wells, John Goble, Ronnie Hall, Jeff Wells, Mike Wells and Alfred Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Prestonsburg Church of Christ, 88 Route 1428, Prestonsburg, KY 41653.
The family has entrusted arrangements to the Carter Funeral Home.
