Betsy Layne Elementary teamed up with McDonald’s at Coal Run on March 19th to raise money for its school through a McTeacher’s Night Fundraiser.
A team of teachers and staff from the school worked alongside McDonald’s employees at different positions, including front counter cashiers and drive-thru order presenters. A portion of sales from the teacher’s shift totaling over $650.00 was donated to Betsy Layne Elementary. Thanks to the support of parents, students, and community members, the fundraiser was a huge success for the school. McDonald’s of Coal Run is locally owned and operated by Bob and Tom Hutchison.
McDonald’s of East Kentucky representative, Jennifer Cantrell is shown presenting the check to BLES Principal John Kidd, along with some of the teachers and staff that participated in this fun filled event.
McDonald’s restaurants in the area host McTeacher’s Night throughout the year as fundraisers for local schools. As a result, restaurants in Central and Southern West Virginia, Southeastern Ohio and Eastern Kentucky donated almost $30,000 to education during the 2011-12 school year.
