PRESTONSBURG — The East Kentucky Science Center will be fielding yet another full slate of summer camps geared toward children of all ages.
Science center officials say they are gearing up for their summer programs and are excited to be offering some old favorites and some new camps this summer as well. The center plans to offer half-day camps for preschoolers ages 4-5, as well as changing the way camps are grouped in order to make easier for parents to know where children fit in.
Children will now be grouped by the grade they are entering. Preschool camps include the Great Space Adventure on May 30 and Under the Sea on July 2. These run from 9 a.m. until noon. Camps for grades 1st-3rd include Crazy Critters on June 12 and Color Connections on July 16, and run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Camps for grades 4th-6th include Phun Physics on June 5 and Dig Into Science on June 27. These run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Multiple day camps are also available for grades 3rd-8th and include Riverworks I on June 18-19, Riverworks II on July 23-24, SciGirls on July 9-12, and Amateur Astronomer on July 30-31. These run daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
