William Woodrow Hall, 61, better known to his friends and family as “Bill,” passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Born July 30, 1941, at Bonanza, he was the son of the late Tommy J. Hall and Alta Viola Frazier Hall. Bill was plant manager with American Standard Manufacturing at Hager Hill. He was also a member of the Hager Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
Bill was very active in sports, being a member of Stone Crest Golf Course, and he holds the course record of 58 at Paintsville Golf Course. He was inducted into he Kentucky Basketball Referees Hall of Fame.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by four sisters, Phyllis Ann Hall, Barbara Montgomery, Janet Kay Cottage and Donna Farrington.
He is survived by two sons, Chris Hall and wife, Jamie, of Prestonsburg, and Scott Hall and his wife, Becky, of Prestonsburg; three granddaughters, Megan Hall, Kennedy Hall and Jasmine Hall; two step-grandsons, Christian Collins and Bret Collins; two brothers, Lloyd G. Hall, of Prestonsburg, and Tommy “Tinker” Roger Hall, of Ada, Ohio; and a sister, Betty Brown, also of Ada, Ohio. In addition, Bill is survived by two precious dogs, Fluff and Lady Bug.
Memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, May 18, at the Hager Hill Freewill Baptist Church, with Pastor Ronnie Spriggs officiating.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Hager Hill Freewill Baptist Church, 2344 KY Rt. 1428, Hager Hill, KY 41222.
The family has entrusted arrangements to Carter Funeral Home.
