Gertrude Hopson Webb, 89, of Langley, widow of Thomas A. “Tom” Webb, died May 20, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Born Aug. 22, 1923, in Prestonsburg, to the late Buck Hopson and Zula Horn Craven, she was a retired secretary for the Floyd County Board of Education and a member of Allen First Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles Walker Prater.
She is survived by her children, Earl Edward (Mary Francis) Webb, Thurmal Merle Webb, David Carl Webb, Kenneth Orris Webb, Thomas Dean (Teresa) Webb, Sheba Sue Webb Prater, Madella Sharon Webb and Patricia Lou Webb (Alden) Maynard, all of Langley, and Cheryl Lynn Webb (Charles G.) May, of Allen; and a host of brothers, sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Gertrude Hopson Webb will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 24, at Allen First Baptist Church, in Prestonsburg, with Arnold Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Family Cemetery, at Henry’s Branch, Langley.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m., Wednesday, and all day, Thursday, at the funeral home.
Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, is in charge of arrangements.
