PRESTONSBURG — The Small Business Administration will kick off its yearly lender training in Prestonsburg on Wednesday, June 19, at Morehead State University’s Postsecondary Building, room 116, 6 Bert T. Combs Drive.

The first session will be on the application process for the Small Loan Advantage (SLA) and Rural Lender Advantage (RLA), which are much easier application processes for loans up to $350,000. The assembly will run from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. with lunch being served. Local lenders are encouraged to attend.

“While we cannot predict when, I would like to think that we have the bulk of time for this recession behind us,” said Phil Danhauer, of the SBA Chief Finance Division. “The SBA Guaranty is a great strategy now for commercial lending and it is going to be a stronger one when we experience a change in the market. Lenders are encouraged to take advantage of this SBA lender training opportunity in Prestonsburg.”

Follow up trainings will be held on July 17 and Aug. 28 on SBA loan closings and funding, servicing and liquidation and guaranty purchase packages.
