Larry Douglas Jarvis, age 68, of Grethel, husband of Sharon Mitchell Jarvis, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, in the Hospice Care Center, in Lexington.
He was born Feb. 12, 1945, the son of the late William Henry Jarvis and the late Thelma Fannin Jarvis Scalf. He was a retired administrator for the Floyd County Board of Education.
Mr. Jarvis was a member of the National Education Association, the Kentucky Education Association, Retired Teachers Association, the National Rifle Association and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Including his wife, Larry is survived by a son, Larry Michael (Carmelita) Jervis, of Prestonsburg; a daughter, Lisa Arnett, of Prestonsburg; and two step-daughters, Kelli Cremeans and Natalie Newsome, both of Lexington. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Lewie Arnett, Sage Jervis, Max Jervis, Annalise Jervis and Kendall Cremeans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Jarvis.
Funeral services for Larry Douglas Jarvis will be conducted at noon, Tuesday, June 18, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with Tim McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.
