PRESTONSBURG - Recent Prestonsburg High School graduate Bryson Williams, a three-sport standout, was honored for scoring his 1,000th point in basketball during the Floyd County Board of Education meeting held Monday evening. The versatile Williams excelled in basketball, football and baseball for Prestonsburg High School. During his senior year, Williams became the state’s all-time single-game receiving leader and helped lead the Prestonsburg baseball team to the 15th Region title.
During his senior season, Williams averaged 13.3 points per game for the Blackcats. He shot 33.3 percent (43-of-129) from 3-point range.
The productive Williams averaged 7.6 rebounds per game.
Williams ranked second in both scoring and rebounding for the Blackcats.
Prestonsburg High School Principal Jerry Butcher presented Williams with a ball commemorating the scoring milestone.
