META — Police are investigating an armed robbery last Friday at a Pike County bank.

Kentucky State Police received a report shortly after 3 p.m. of the heist at US Bank. Troopers responding to the scene were told by bank employees that two men wearing dark bandanas entered the bank, brandishing a firearm and demanding money. After clerks complied, the two fled the scene on foot.

The amount of money taken was not disclosed.

Acting on a physical description of the two men, police set up a perimeter around the bank. Shortly afterwards, the Trooper Kevin Thacker found and arrested the two men approximately a half-mile from the bank.

Anthony D. Roberts, 28, of Pikeville, and Anthony John Puett, 29, of Dorton, were each charged with one count of first-degree robbery and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.

Det. Jimmy Anderson continues to investigate the robbery.
