PRESTONSBURG - Highlands Regional Medical Center announced this week that they will soon be offering a program benefiting seniors.
Highlands offers Senior Advantage will be a monthly program featuring various speakers as well as a forum to discuss finance, general lifestyle, health, travel and more.
Hospital officials say that being a Senior Advantage member will offer numerous benefits including receiving valuable information at monthly meetings, and also receive healthcare payment counseling for Medicare and Medigap; access to making copies of important documents; notary service for non-health care documents; discounts from local merchants; recreation activities and social events including day trips, holiday parties and picnics; free blood pressure checks; quarterly cholesterol and blood sugar screenings; and a 10% discount in the Food Court at HRMC.
Officials say that all community members over the age of 50 are encouraged to join the Senior Advantage Program.
