PRESTONSBURG - The 14th Annual Youth Hunt Squirrel Hunt Campout will be held on Friday and Saturday at German Bridge Campground. The event is once again being sponsored by the Floyd County Hunter Education Organization, Dewey Lake Fish and Game Club, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Kentucky Hunter Education Association.
Each youth attending the hunt/campout must be accompanied by at least one parent or guardian. Also campers should bring their own hunting, fishing and camping equipment. Age groups for the youth hunt/campout are 4-6-year-olds; 7-9-year-olds; 10-12-year-olds and 13-15-year-olds. Disabled youth hunters will also be accommodated.
Any youth hunter age 12 and older must have a hunting license and hunter education orange card. Only shotguns will be permitted during the hunt/campout and all federal, state and WMA regulations will apply.
Door prizes will be given away to selected youth in all age groups. Shotguns will be given for youth ages 7 and older.
Each youth participant will receive a gift and a hat. Hunters ages 7-15 will have a chance to win a shotgun.
Fishing will be available throughout the event.
Pre-registration is required as limited spaces are available.
No pets will be allowed at the youth hunt/campout.
