Lady Blackcats blank Menifee County for third straight shutout win

FRENCHBURG - The Prestonsburg Lady Blackcats remained in the win column over the weekend, blanking Menifee County 6-0 for their third straight win via shutout.

With the win, Prestonsburg improved to 8-1. The Lady Blackcats defeated Menifee County for their fifth straight win.

In nine contests, Prestonsburg has outscored opponents 49-11.

Prestonsburg performed well both offensively and defensively in the match versus Menifee County, a squad from the 16th Region.

Jackie Kidd and Katie Porter paced the Prestonsburg offensive attack with three goals apiece.

Kidd, Porter, Carly Burchett and Hannah Little delivered one assist each for the Lady Blackcats.

Prestonsburg goalkeeper Maddy Ousley held Menifee County scoreless in her third straight shutout.

Prestonsburg was playing Lawrence County on the road in Louisa at the Bulldog Classic Tuesday evening. The Prestonsburg-Lawrence County girls’ soccer match ended too late to make this edition.

Prestonsburg is scheduled to visit Belfry on Thursday.
