ALC volleyball team struggles in tri-match

WILMORE - The Alice Lloyd College volleyball team squared off against conference rivals on Saturday, battling St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Asbury University and Point Park University at the Asbury Quad. More on the Alice Lloyd volleyball team’s appearance in the Asbury-hosted event follows.

STLCOP 3, ALC 0: St. Louis College of Pharmacy (SLCOP) defeated Alice Lloyd in three straight games, winning 25-11, 25-17, 25-5.

Macy Allen paced Alice Lloyd with four kills. Prestonsburg High School graduate Sadie Slone delivered two kills while Delaney Pritchard added four digs.

Asbury 3, Alice Lloyd 0: Host Asbury beat Alice Lloyd in back-to-back-to-back games, prevailing 25-9, 25-7, 25-15.

Katie McFarland registered four digs while Macy Allen, Sadie Slone and Shayla Brinegar added two scoops apiece for the Lady Eagles.

Point Park 3, Alice Lloyd 0: Alice Lloyd fared somewhat better in a nightcap but couldn’t get past Point Park, which won in three games - 25-10, 25-10, 25-12.

Macy Allen had four kills while Shayla Brinegar and Sadie Slone added two apiece.

The Lady Eagles will participate in Berea College’s Spoonbread Smash on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 20-21)
