Highlands Health System offers new fitness classes

PRESTONSBURG – The Highlands Wellness Center, is now offering three new fitness classes to the community. The classes are held in the Highlands Medical Office Building, in the lower level, on the HRMC campus in Prestonsburg.

Zumba, featuring new instructor Amy Jarrell, is the original dance-fitness party class offering exciting rhythms set to high-energy beats. You can join Zumba every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. It’s easy to do, effective, and exhilarating!

Xtreme Fit is every Monday through Friday with instructor Ernest Brewer, from 6:15 to 7:15 a.m. Xtreme Fit is a complete, non-stop strengthening and conditioning session for the core, arms, legs, and cardiovascular system. It utilizes a hybrid of Tapout XT, P90X and Rushfit programs.

Yoga is featured on Tuesdays and Thursdays by instructor Tiffany Lafferty. Yoga is a low-impact workout designed to increase flexibility, improve circulation, and allow for focus on breathing and meditation. Classes are offered from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., and designed for beginners.
