PRESTONSBURG – Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) and First-Year Experience is proud to host the Alice Lloyd College’s Alfred and Shirley Wampler Caudill Players on Thursday, October 10, from 10:50 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. in front of the gazebo on the Prestonsburg campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The Caudill Players will perform Classics on the Move, featuring the stories of Edgar Allen Poe and plays by William Shakespeare, as part of BSCTC’s Shakespeare in the Park. The play is adapted by Megan Burnett, who directs the Caudill Players.

Love and hate, comedy and tragedy, dancing and sword fighting all find their place on the stage when these six actors bring to life scenes from Julius Caesar, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Masque of the Red Death, and Casque of Amontillado. Audience recommendations are for children 12 years and older.

Consisting of six work-study students from Alice Lloyd College, the Caudill Players feature seniors Katie Smith and Kayla Hall; junior Jackson Driskill; and freshmen Drake Grizzell, Matthew Hicks and Christi Rose.

The Caudill Players are funded through an endowment fund created by Dr. Don Caudill to honor his parents, Alfred and Shirley Wampler Caudill.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Student Center atrium on the Prestonsburg campus.
