Lady Blackcats on five-game winning streak

PRESTONSBURG - The Prestonsburg girls’ soccer team has won five straight games, outscoring opponents 30-5 during the stretch. Earlier in the week, Prestonsburg posted wins over Shelby Valley and Belfry. ‘

Prestonsburg 8, Shelby Valley 1: Katie Porter scored a game-high four goals to lead Prestonsburg to an 8-1 win over host Shelby Valley on Monday.

Carly Burchett, Jordan Carroll, Hannah Little and McKenzie Little netted one goal apiece for the Lady Blackcats.

Jackie Kidd delivered a game-high two assists for the Lady Blackcats. Allyson DeRossett and Hannah Little added one assist each for the Prestonsburg girls’ soccer team.

Prestonsburg goalkeeper Maddy Ousley turned in a solid defensive performance, limiting Shelby Valley to only one goal.

Prestonsburg 5, Belfry 1: The Prestonsburg Lady Blackcats posted their fifth straight win on Tuesday, defeating Belfry 5-1.

Katie Porter led Prestonsburg with three goals. Carly Burchett added two goals and one assist for the Blackcats.

Aiding the Prestonsburg offensive attack, Jackie Kidd dealt out an assist.

For the second straight game, Prestonsburg goalkeeper Maddy Ousley held an opposing team to one goal.

Prestonsburg is carrying plenty of momentum into the postseason.
