Six UPIKE women’s soccer players named Academic All-MSC

PIKEVILLE – Six members of the University of Pikeville women’s soccer team earned Academic All Mid-South Conference honors, league officials announced on Wednesday.

UPIKE’s recipients included Kaitlyn Abdon, Kaitlynn Bates, Marianna Jorge, Carmen Koster, Elisa Suya Lopes and Katelyn McFarlane.

Sixty-six MSC women’s soccer student-athletes earned the award overall.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved at least sophomore academic status.

Six conference women’s soccer student-athletes own a 4.0 grade point average, including UPIKE’s Suya Lopes, a junior biology major from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
