HAROLD — A grand jury will determine whether a Harold man will face felony charges related to accusations he engaged in sex acts with a 9-year-old.

Harvey G. Robinson, 57, of Harold, was arrested Nov. 20 and charged with one count of first-degree rape and one count of first-degree sodomy.

According to a criminal complaint filed against him by Kentucky State Police Det. William Petrey, Robinson is accused of engaging in sex and sexual acts with a 9-year-old on several occasions over a 16-month period beginning in June 2012.

Robinson pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment Nov. 21. He was originally held in the Floyd County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond, which was later raised to $500,000. On Dec. 2, District Judge Jimmy R. Marcum agreed to reduce the bond to $250,000 cash, with the conditions that Robinson not leave the county, have no contact with the victim or victim’s family, and remain at least 5,000 feet away from the victim and victim’s family.

Robinson remains in jail.

Attorney Ned Pillersdorf is representing Robinson.
