Knights drop game to Rose Hill

ASHLAND - Senior Cameron Thomas recorded a triple-double, scoring 30 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists as Rose Hill defeated visiting Piarist School 75-65 for its first win in the 2013-14 season on Friday.

Finishing strong, Rose Hill doubled up Piarist 26-13 in the final quarter to claim the win.

Chase Meredith drained five 3-pointers and added 21 points for the Royals in the victory.

With the win, Rose Hill moved to 1-6.

Piarist slipped to 1-7 after suffering the loss.

Rose Hill was 19 of 37 from the field in the winning effort.

Nathan Hamilton finished one shot short of reaching double figures, exiting the contest with eight points for the Royals. Travis Cade and Jacob Daniel rounded out the Rose Hill scoring, finishing with four and two points, respectively.

Michael Williams led Piarist with a game-high 37 points. Tyler Stumbo joined Williams in double figures, adding 21 points for the Knights.

Galvin Greene scored five points and Clay Slone netted two for the Knights in the setback.

Piarist was 12 of 27 from the field in the loss.

The Knights are scheduled to host Phelps on Thursday. Tip-off for the Piarist-Phelps boys’ basketball game is set for 7:30 p.m.
