SALYERSVILLE — The public is invited to attend a public informational meeting to discuss a project to improve U.S. 460 between the Mountain Parkway and Route 114 in Salyersville.
The meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Magoffin County High School. It will be an “open house” format meeting with no formal presentation.
Representatives from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and project consultants will be available to answer questions and provide information about the project. Handouts will be available describing the project’s purpose and need, the right-of-way acquisition process and potential utility relocation concerns. Members of the public will be able to view displays showing the proposed route and the properties to be impacted by the project.
A project is under development to reconstruct the existing portion of U.S. 460 known locally as “Restaurant Row” to a new facility. Under the proposal, the route would be widened from two travel lanes with a center left-turn lane to four travel lanes, with left turns provided at signalized intersections. A final alternative for the project has been selected.
Persons with disabilities who wish to attend the meeting but have special accessibility needs that require assistance should contact the project manager, Jason Blackburn, at (606) 666-8841 to request special assistance.
