ALLEN - The Kinzer Motorsports team rolled south to Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama May 2-3 for a doubleheader, which accompanied the NASCAR weekend across the road at Talladega Superspeedway. Veteran drive Brandon Kinzer fared well, finishing second in one feature race and seventh in the other event.
On Friday night, Talladega Short Track hosted a $2,000-to-win program. During the unsanctioned show, Kinzer posted the quickest lap in Group A during the qualifying session, which placed him on the pole for the A-Main. Kinzer then put forth a strong showing throughout the feature and eventually claimed an impressive runner-up effort behind only victor Jason Hiett.
On Saturday evening at TST, the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) strolled into town to preside over a $4,000-to-win showdown. Kinzer clicked off the fourth fastest lap in Group A during time trials and later started the 40-lapper from the inside of the fourth row. When the dust had settled in the main event, Allen ace found himself right where he started - in the seventh position.
