PRESTONSBURG — Tens of thousands of dollars worth of pills are now off the streets, after Prestonsburg Police responded to a call at the Highlands Plaza early Friday afternoon.

Officer Brian Hall says that three city police officers took the call, complaining of an intoxicated man making threats at a clinic in the plaza around 1 p.m., Friday. At the scene, Sgt. George Tussey, Officer Aaron Blevins and Officer Nick Bingham encountered the suspect on the sidewalk.

Hall says the suspect was not compliant with officers’ orders, and after a brief struggle, they subdued him and took him into custody. When searched, the suspect, Kyle Waddles, is alleged to have had over 830 pills in his possession at the time, with a street value over $43,000.

“They all three did a good job,” Hall said of his colleagues’ work.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
