PRESTONSBURG - The Prestonsburg girls’ soccer team won its season-opener earlier in the week, toppling visiting Hazard 8-0 on Tuesday.

Kidd delivered two assists for Prestonsburg in the victory. Porter, Carly Burchett and Hannah Fitzpatrick delivered one assist apiece for the Scott Porter-coached Lady Blackcats.

Tradition-rich Prestonsburg compiled an 18-6 record in 2013, finishing runner-up in both the 57th District and 15th Region.

Prestonsburg was playing on the road at Perry County Central on Thursday night. Results from the Prestonsburg-Perry County Central girls’ soccer game were unavailable at press time.

Prestonsburg is scheduled to host 15th Region Sheldon Clark, Shelby Valley and Belfry next week.
