Lorene Maple, 77, of Village Green Drive, in Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home, Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, with her family by her side.

She was born Sept. 26, 1935, in McDowell, the daughter of Bailey Mosley and Fannie “Awkie” (Moore) Mosley, and had been an Ashtabula resident since 1963.

After working with Roller Plastics, she began a career as an EMT, working 20 years with the Red Cross and Hawkins Ambulance Service. She also worked 23 years for Millbrook Bread/Schwebel’s, from which she retired.

A member of the Pentecostal Church of God, she was a leader in the Brownies, Girls Scouts, and 4-H. She enjoyed crafts and her talents allowed her to make many of her own crafting creatkions for family and friends. Other hobbies included cooking and cake decorating, sewing and quilting, and tending to her vegetable and flower garden.

Her survivors include her husband of 48 years, Robert Ellsworth Maple, whom she married September 19, 1964; two children, Teresa Little (Mark) Bates, of North Kingsvill, Ohio, and Robert Duane (Jackie) Maple, of Ashtabula; son-in-law, John Frey, of Ashtabula; six grandchildren, Burgundy (Anthony) LaCute, Joshua (Brittany) Bates, Derek (Amanda) Maple, Ashley (David) Wisniewski, Loren Frey, and Alexander Maple; two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Rylie Bates; five brothers, Clabe Bailey (Judy) Mosley, of Sadieville, Billy Monroe (Shirley) Mosley, Lenville Mosley, Carl Butler (Patsy), Edd Jr., all of McDowell; five sisters, Avelene (Bethel) Gayeheart, of McDowell, Palestine Mosley, of Inverness, Fla., Eunice Jane (Roy) Collier of West Liberty, Julie Marie Wilson of Harold, and Pearlene Eller of Versailles, brother-in- law, Dent Osborne; and many, many beloved minors and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter: Deborah Gwynn (Little) Frey on December 13, 2007; one brother, Thaniel Mosley; two sisters, Jewel Dean Osborne and Helen Jean Gayheart; a neice, Misty Lynn Mosley; a nephew, Larry Cline; her brothers-in-law, Reford Gayeheart and Charles Eller; and her parents.

Services were held Monday December 31, 2012 at the Pentecostal Church of God at 2201 Cook Road, Ashtabula Ohio. Rev. Kenneth Roberts, Pastor, will officiate . Burjal will be in Saybrook Cemetery in Ashtabula. Contirbutions in her memorial may be made to the Pentecostal Church of God.
