Officials worked to clear Shawn Johnson’s Chevrolet Trailblazer from the scene of Thursday morning’s wreck.
EASTERN — A man was airlifted Thursday morning from the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Route 80.
According to officials at the scene, Shawn Johnson, age and address unavailable, was travelling west on Route 80, between Allen Central High School and Duff Elementary, shortly before 9 a.m., when he lost control of his Chevrolet Trailblazer. The vehicle crossed the eastbound lanes and went over a guardrail.
Johnson was airlifted to Holston Valley Medical Center, in Kingsport, Tenn.
Kentucky State Police is investigating the accident.
