Isaac “Ike” Slone, 76, of Warsaw, Ind., went home to be with his Lord and Savior and surrounded by family at 1:15 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Parkview North Hospital, in Fort Wayne, Ind.

On March 26, 1936, he was born in Prestonsburg, to Adam and Julie (Haywood) Slone. He was united in marriage to Colleen Wilson on March 7, 1953, in Prestonsburg.

Living most of his life in Warsaw, Isaac worked for Kimble Glass as a machine operator for 36 years. He was also a member of Warsaw Family Worship Center.

Isaac never knew a stranger. He was a great storyteller and could draw everyone’s attention. He loved sitting on the porch in his lawn chair and waving to everyone who passed by. Isaac enjoyed playing pool, going fishing and taking his dogs for car rides, and being surrounded by his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and a large group of friends and acquaintances.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Colleen Slone, of Warsaw; four children, John Slone, of Warsaw, Mark Slone, of Pierceton, Ind., Diane Hurt and her fiancee, Donald Dugan, of Warsaw, and Donna Brett and her fiancee, Steve Burke, of Warsaw; three sister, Edith Stumbo, of Prestonsburg, Ethel Harmon and her companion, Ray Churubusco, of Warsaw, and Ruby Krebs and her spouse, Richard, of Warsaw; four brothers, Ervin Slone, of Prestonsburg, Kenon Slone and spouse, Bonnie, of Warsaw, Wendell Slone and spouse, Brenda, of Etna Green, Ind., and Adam Slone Jr. and spouse, Kathy, of Warsaw; six grandchildren, Jason Slone and his companion, Beth, of Pierceton, Sara Yarber and spouse, Christopher, of Bourbon, Ind., Ryan Slone, of Warsaw, Kevin Slone and fiancee, Nicky, of Pierceton, and Justin Hurt and Travis Hurt, both of Grambrills, Md.; four great grandchildren, Gwendolyn Page, Serenity Slone, Allison Yarber and Isaac Joseph Slone; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Isaac was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clayton and Fred Slone.

A funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 11, at Celebrations United Methodist Church, in Winona Lake, Ind., with Paston William Whitaker officiating. Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery, in Warsaw.
