Ruby A. Deskins, age 82, of Ivel, widow of William Arthur Deskins, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 26, 1930, at Stanville, a daughter of the late Henry and Ivory Mae King Stratton. She was a devoted housewife and mother, and a faithful church member at Tom’s Creek Freewill Baptist until her illness prevented her from attending.
Ruby is survived by two sons, Arthur Deskins, of Ivel, and Jerry (Annette) Deskins, of Stanville; a daughter, Betty Sue (Vernon) Combs, of Hindman; three grandchildren, Shawn Deskins, Jessica Chaffins and Brian Combs; and two great-grandchildren, Brantley and Kaleigh Deskins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Deskins; daughter-in-law, Mickey Deskins; brother, J. T. Stratton; and three sisters, Jerlean Stratton, Reba Kidd and Betty Jo Stratton.
Funeral services for Ruby A. Deskins will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with Tim McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday, with services nightly at 7 p.m.
