Grethel store robbed Friday night

GRETHEL — Police are asking the public for help finding a man who robbed a convenience store over the weekend.

Kentucky State Police reports receiving a report of an armed robbery Friday night that VIP Fuels.

According to police, an unidentified man walked into the store, wearing a ski mask and blue hooded shirt. The man showed the clerk a weapon and demanded cash. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled the store on foot.

The perpetrator is described as approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall.

Police request that anyone with information about the robbery contact KSP Post 9 in Pikeville, by calling (606) 433-7711 or (800) 222-5555.

Det. Kevin Newsome is investigating the case.
