LEXINGTON - The Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches (KABC) has announced its players and coaches of the year for each of Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s 16 regions. Pikeville High School swept the honors in the 15th Region with head coach Bart Williams being named coach of the year and senior guard Ethan Rowe claiming the player of the year honor.
Williams guided Pikeville to a 22-11 record in the 2012-13 season. The Panthers reached the 15th Region Tournament semifinals.
Rowe averaged 21.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game for Pikeville during the regular-season. He shot 87.0 percent (167-of-192) from the free throw line. A proven scorer, Rowe shot 36.9 percent (72-of-195) from 3-point range.
All players and coaches of the year will be recognized later in the week during the Boys’ Sweet 16.
The annual honors, as voted by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches, follow.
