KYCOM recognizes leader in pediatric medicine

PIKEVILLE – The University of Pikeville recognized Jacqueline Noonan, M.D., professor of pediatrics – emeriti, division of pediatric cardiology at the University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital, for her leadership and devotion in the practice of medicine during the University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine’s 17th Annual Pediatric Symposium.

“Dr. Jaqueline Noonan demonstrates the embodiment of clinical research and clinical medicine. Her work with children at the University of Kentucky has been a hallmark of pediatric medicine in the Commonwealth of Kentucky as she has worked tirelessly for the betterment of health care,” said William Betz, D.O., FACOFP, dist., senior associate dean for osteopathic medicine at KYCOM.

Noonan has served as a guest lecturer for the pediatric symposium for several years. The symposium, which is part of the pediatrics course for KYCOM students, is held on the university’s campus and provides health care professionals with guidelines and up-to-date information on the appropriate diagnosis, treatment and disposition of a broad range of pediatric health care issues.
