MOREHEAD – Morehead State University received a total of 13 awards for excellence in development, alumni relations and communications in the annual competition sponsored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Kentucky.
Awards were presented at the organization’s conference at the Hilton Lexington Downtown hotel on December 11.
“We are pleased for the recognition these awards bring to Morehead State University,” said Jim Shaw, vice president for university advancement. “It’s always gratifying when our work to advance the university is judged to be outstanding by our peers.”
Five of MSU’s awards were at the grand award level, the highest award presented in the competition.
Grand awards were won for: Statement magazine, Summer 2015 – cover graphic design; Statement magazine, Summer 2015 – graphic design periodical; Statement magazine, Summer 2015 – publications writing; 24 Hour Challenge – alumni relations special project, event or program; 2015 Annual Spring Gala, “Moulin Rouge” – special event.
Awards of Excellence were won for: Statement magazine, 2015 series – print and digital publication; 2015 Breckinridge All-School Reunion – alumni relations special project, event or program; 2014 Ye Olde Madrigal Feaste – special event.
Special Merit awards were won for: Alumni & Welcome Center video – fundraising video; Breckinridge Commemorative Scholarship Endowment video – fundraising video; Valentine’s Day #MuchMoreLove campaign – social media strategy and execution; 2014 Admissions pieces – recruitment publications series; 2014 Giving Tuesday Campaign – alumni relations special project, event or program.
“We are delighted with the awards,” said Mindy Highley, assistant vice president for alumni relations and development. “A great deal of time and preparation went into these projects, and to be recognized for our hard work is an honor. I am proud of all of our staff who worked on these endeavors.”
CASE Kentucky is a statewide organization that serves advancement professionals in alumni relations, advancement services, development and communications at more than 70 colleges, universities, private secondary and elementary schools and other educational organizations. CASE Kentucky also is part of CASE District III, which includes educational institutions in the southeastern portion of the United States, and the national CASE organization.
CASE Kentucky offered awards in a nearly 50 categories. Judges could award one grand champion award, up to two awards of excellence and as many as three special merit awards in each category.
