PIKEVILLE -The Artist Collaborative Theatre (ACT) is preparing for its its 2016-2017 season. In hopes of producing “To Kill a Mockingbird” for its literary slot in February and March, ACT is hosting an open casting call.
The purpose of the open casting call is to attract people of color as well as new talent of every race, creed, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender and age for this and future productions.
Acting experience is not required, only a willingness to commit to the role and play. Rehearsals will begin January 11, 2017 and run Monday-Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Not everyone is needed at every rehearsal. The show will open on February 16, 2017 and run through March 19, 2017. Performances are slated to be held every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
ACT is a small, all volunteer, non-profit theatre located in Elkhorn City and serves the Tri-State area of Virginia, Kentucky and West Virginia. It has a core company of 50 volunteers and 120 volunteer associates.
