PRESTONSBURG – Kentucky State Police arrested Wyatt West, 18, of Ohio, after he passed counterfeit bills to vendors at the Bull Creek Trading Center on Saturday.
According to a police report, Kentucky State Police received a call from a vendor Saturday afternoon after she was given a counterfeit $50 bill. After realizing she had been given the counterfeit money, the vendor confronted West, who fled the scene. Thanks to her quick thinking, she snapped a picture of the suspect before he could get away,
Mary Neely, Bull Creek Trade Center Manager, said although the suspect got away they were also able to get a license plate number. The quick-thinking vendors that sprang into action helped Kentucky State Police apprehend and arrest West.
