PRESTONSBURG – The Prestonsburg Tourism Commission met at the Mountain Arts Center (MAC) for its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday. Prestonsburg Tourism Director Mitchell Pearson was unable to attend the meeting due to being at a tourism show in Branson, Missouri. Tourism commission members discussed tour group schedules during the meeting.

The first tour group of the season is due to arrive in Prestonsburg from Wisconsin on April 20. The second group is scheduled to arrive from Pennsylvania on April 24.

“We are very excited about this year,” said Prestonsburg Tourism Administrative Assistant Brooke LeMonds-Rouse. “Mitchell (Pearson) went to the Pigeon Forge Tourism Show and had 26 appointments to talk to tour group organizers about Prestonsburg and what the surrounding area has to offer. A few of the people he talked to in Pigeon Forge have already called wanting more information so they could potentially book a tour group with us.”
