MARTIN — Get some family exercise after the kids finish their homework by walking with a doctor from Saint Joseph Martin. The hospital will host a Walk with a Doc event on Thursday t 6 p.m. at the Walking Track at Martin Ball Field.
The event will be led by John Triplett, DO, with Seton Family Health Center. Dr. Triplett will discuss diabetes and diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Walk participants will have the opportunity to talk with Dr. Triplett and ask questions in a relaxed environment.
According to America Walks, brisk walking has been shown to reduce body fat, lower blood pressure, increase high-density lipoprotein and even reduce risks of bone fracture. It is also associated with lower mortality rates from cardiovascular disease and cancer.
All are welcome and participants are encouraged to invite family and friends to walk together toward a healthier lifestyle. There is no registration required.
