Stefany Boleyn, granddaughter of Minnie Boleyn of Garrett, Kentucky, was accepted to graduate school at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), and has begun studies leading to a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS). Stefany, age 21, received her B.A. in English – Writing and Literacy from IUPUI at age 20, after graduating from high school at age 16.
During her collegiate career she received numerous honors, including serving as the following: IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI Student Ambassador; IUPUI Sam H. Jones Democracy Plaza and Community Partner Scholar; Scott E. Evenbeck Mentor Scholar; Founding Sister, Secretary, and Chair of the Bylaws Committee, Delta Zeta Sorority – Pi Omicron Chapter; and Director of Member Meetings, To Write Love on Her Arms, IUPUI UChapter.
She also spent one semester abroad at the University of Derby in Derby, England, as an exchange student in the Theatre department. Stefany was named to the IU School of Liberal Arts Dean’s List for the majority of her undergraduate career.
“I am passionate about serving the public and guaranteeing their access to information and resources,” said Stefany. “The MLIS degree will allow me to commit to providing educational and community resources, including internet access; information on housing, food, legal, and welfare options; literacy programs; GED and college-preparedness programs; programs for those previously incarcerated; and more.”
Stefany is the daughter of Steve and Karen Boleyn of Greenwood, Indiana, previously of Garrett. She is currently a graduate assistant at IUPUI working in Family, School, and Neighborhood Engagement, and serves as the Vice-president (VP) for the Association of Library and Information Science Students (ALISS) at IUPUI and VP of membership for the Indianapolis Delta Zeta Alumnae Chapter. She is also employed by IUPUI’s University Library and the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library.
Stefany and her husband Daniel reside in Indianapolis.
