PRESTONSBURG – As part of the AT&T’s continuing commitment to supporting the communities it serves, the company donated $2,500 to the Floyd Copunty-based Jordan Light Foundation. Tina Hughes, President of the Jordan Light Foundation accepted the donation that Amy Scarborough, AT&T’s regional director of external affairs for Eastern Kentucky, presented on behalf of AT&T.
The Jordan Light Foundation provides awareness, support and funding for families with a financial medical crisis due to a child undergoing treatment for a major medical illness. Donations are used to assist with expenses incurred for transportation, food and lodging while seeking medical treatment.
“We are very grateful to Senator Johnny Ray Turner for supporting our work and for highlighting our mission publicly. The Senator and his family have been terrific to work with and we’re very happy AT&T has become involved in our efforts as well,” Tina Hughes said.
Sen. Turner commented, “The Jordan Light Foundation does amazing work, helping families in our area in their time of need. I am thrilled to be involved in their very worthy endeavors and commend them for their dedication to children and families in our region.”
According to Scarborough, “Anytime we can help children, it’s a good day. We are committed to Eastern Kentucky, and we are honored to support the work of the Jordan Light Foundation.”
