PIKEVILLE – The Big Sandy Heritage Center, located at 172 Division Street in the Judicial Annex behind the Old Courthouse Building in Downtown Pikeville, has announced its grand opening event scheduled for noon -2 p.m. on September 25.
The Big Sandy Heritage Center and the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce will partner together for the grand opening, which will be an outdoor event in the plaza behind the Old Courthouse. It will feature a ribboncutting ceremony, live bluegrass music, historical reenactments, guided tours of the museum, refreshments and more.
This is a free event open to the public. However, donations are welcomed and encouraged.
The Big Sandy Heritage Center’s grand opening will offer visitors an opportunity to see the traveling exhibit, The Hatfields & McCoys: American Blood Feud, which is currently on loan from the West Virginia Humanities Council through October 3.
