PIKEVILLE – The University of Pikeville Academic Team Division I team placed second in the Salsarita’s Invitational Tournament. The Kentucky College Quick Recall League (KCQRL) tournament was hosted by the University of Louisville and included teams from the University of Louisville, University of the Cumberlands, Murray State University, Eastern Kentucky University, Transylvania University and Jefferson Community College.
Overall for the year, the UPIKE Division I team went 18-6 in head-to-head competition and placed second in the league.
The KCQRL promotes amiable competition within an academic setting. Through the academic tournament process, the KCQRL hopes to foster good will and provide a forum in which academic excellence may be rewarded. The league is made up of colleges and universities – both private and public – from across Kentucky and surrounding states. Each team has two divisions comprised of juniors and seniors and freshmen and sophomores.
