PRESTONSBURG – Floyd County Sheriff John P. Hunt gives credit to his office’s anonymous tip line (606-949-2020) for the recent arrest of Larry Michael Johnson of Garrett.

After receiving an anonymous tip of possible illegal drug trafficking or other drug related crimes being committed in the Garrett community, Sheriff Hunt and deputies instigated an investigation into the alleged drug trafficking activity. They used the helpful and thorough information obtained from the anonymous tip. After securing sufficient evidence, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office presented their findings to a grand jury and secured an indictment against Johnson for tracking first degree.

“The anonymous tip line has enabled the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office to conduct several successful drug busts since its launch in May 2015, as well as assisting in the locating of numerous wanted individuals for various criminal activities and outstanding warrants,” Hunt said.

Floyd County citizens are encouraged to utilize the Floyd County Sheriff Office’s anonymous tip line to report suspected crime in their communities by calling (606) 949-2020.
