Sheriff conducts round two of roundup

Staff Report

PRESTONSBURG – Floyd County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted another roundup of individuals wanted for failure to make court ordered child support payments. A total of eleven (11) individuals accounted for over $150,000 of unpaid child support. The second round of arrests come as a result of the continuing joint effort between Floyd County Sheriff John P. Hunt and Floyd County Attorney Keith Bartley as they work to protect and serve Floyd County’s greatest resource, its children.

The roundup of individuals comes within 33 days of the first round-up which occurred on August 25 when 13 individuals were arrested for outstanding payments totaling an amount in excess of $100,000.

Hunt and Bartley plan to continue working closely together to seek those non-custodial parents who are negating their moral and legal responsibility to their family and encourage individuals who believe they may have fallen behind on court ordered payments to contact the Floyd County Attorney’s Office Child Support Division to make arrangements to commence payments by calling 886-7925.
