HI HAT – At press time on Tuesday, Floyd County school officials continued to look for the individual or individuals who responsible for vandalizing the South Floyd High School football field.

A vehicle drove on South Floyd High School’s football field on Sunday and left deep tire tracks.

Surveillance video was taken but has not been released. Officials confirmed that cameras show a car pulling onto the football field at 1 a.m. on Sunday.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the school at 452-9600.

The damage isn’t expected to cause the South Floyd football program to miss any football games.

South Floyd is scheduled to visit Jenkins on Friday night. The Raiders are under the guidance of first-year head coach Chad Hall and have regular-season home games remaining versus Hazard (Oct. 16) and Phelps (Oct. 23).

Hall was quick to thank everyone who helped to work on the field earlier in the week.

“I want to thank all the players, parents, community members and coaches for helping work on our field,” Hall said.
